The Answer
The first thing to notice is the numer of chapters in Deception Point:.
These numbers do infact refer to the chapter numbers of Deception
Point. Each number represents the first letter of the corresponding
chapter. The letters. V, L & U are simply there because no chapters
begin with those letters. We now have the following sequence....

Now What???
The next thing to notice is that there are 25 letters. 25
is a square number. The letters should be rearranged into what is
called a Caeser Square. Write the letters across in a 5 x 5 square
filling one row at a time....
